Cranbourne Kings defeat CSB in debut match

Cricket Southern Bayside made it’s National Indoor Cricket League debut last Friday (20th April) when they took on the Cranbourne Kings at the Springvale Indoor Sports Centre.

Bowling first the team conceded 41 runs in the first skin, then 42,33 and 24 runs with the Kings making 140.

As a debutant team at this level it was always going to be hard work when taking on one of the competitions better sides and that was the case. The positives coming with the team conceding only one negative skin, and winning the fourth skin, being defeated 140 to 19.

For the experienced NICL watchers it was rated as a positive start for the team in the competition and we received some great recognition that we are a part of it.

The team has the bye this weekend and then travel out to Croydon for a double header and a Facebook Live streamed match on Sunday May 6th.

There is still a couple of places left on the roster if any experienced indoor cricketers are keen to be involved. The cost of participation is covered by the generous sponsorship of the Bentleigh RSL. All players receiving free apparel, with no umpire fees, ball fees or insurance. All covered by our sponsors.
